The only designated sub-AVA in the Rogue Valley, the Applegate’s vineyards range from 1,000 to 1,500 feet elevation. Warmer and drier than the Illinois Valley to the west but less so than the Southern Rogue Valley to the east, loads of varieties thrive here, including Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Chardonnay and Zinfandel. Plus some interesting Rhone-style wines like Grenache, Mourvèdre, Viognier and Roussanne.
Sample some of Oregon’s finest wines alongside family fun, from Mother’s Day bubbly brunch to pumpkin catapults.
