In the season of giving thanks, Rogue Valley Wine Country joins The Giving Season
The Giving Season is our gift of thanks to you and the communities where we live and work. After a year full of challenges, we find another way to join together to help Rogue Valley Wine Country rise above the set-backs of 2020 and come back even stronger.
The Cause
42,000 people displaced, 2,400+ homes burned, 4,000 adults and children suddenly homeless with an immediate need for shelter and food; nearly 70% of children attending some schools have lost their homes.
Rogue Valley Wine Country is an extraordinary place and while our tasting rooms are open and ready to welcome you, our community continues to suffer the impacts of losing homes and jobs from the September wildfires. Many struggle to find stability in this uncertain and challenging time as the region works to clean up and recover from the devastating fires.
With the holiday season, Rogue Valley wineries are giving thanks to our community with Rogue Valley Wine Country Cares – The Giving Season…and we need your help! Please join The Giving Season in donating to Rogue Food Unites as they bring three meals a day to hundreds of people who lost their homes in the fires and continue to live in temporary housing without kitchen facilities.
How You Can Help
Purchase discounted wine and help families through Rogue Valley Wine Country Cares - The Giving Season!
- Make a cash donation to Rogue Food Unites. At a time when the local economy in the Rogue Valley is already struggling due to the pandemic, every dollar invested in Rogue Food Unites ensures that local restaurant workers keep working, local farmers keep farming, and displaced residents impacted by the fires are supported nutritionally and emotionally through food.
- Participating wineries will also be making cash donations to the Rogue Food Unites.
- Purchase wines from participating wineries at a discount through Rogue Valley Wine Country Cares – The Giving Season. Wineries will also be making cash donations to the Rogue Food Unites.
Who will benefit from Rogue Valley Wine Country Cares – The Giving Season
Every donation goes directly to Rogue Food Unites to feed children and families who might not otherwise have access to three nutritious meals every day until they are back on their feet.
During these challenging times of COVID-19 related closures, your donation also helps restaurants stay in business and continue to employ workers, many of whom also are victims of the Southern Oregon fires.
Help Rogue Food Unites meet its fundraising goal of $1,500,000 so they can continue to nurture and rebuild our communities through food. No amount is too small – every bit helps our community heal and rebuild. Please help us support those who are making a difference for those who have lost so much!
